Volnay
Volnay is one of the most evocative names in the Côte d’Or region of Burgundy. Just a few kilometres southwest of the beautiful medieval town of Beaune and nestled between the illustrious wine villages of Pommard and Meursault, it’s often said that driving around this area is akin to reading the wine list in a fine-dining restaurant, such is the fame of these villages. For enthusiasts looking to store such exquisite wines and wines of a similar kind, the Vin Garde wine fridge and wine cooler range by Wine Storage Solutions offers perfect options. Whether built into your kitchen cabinetry or used as a freestanding unit, Vin Garde provides the ideal environment to preserve and enjoy your delicate wines.

Shelving Options
Three different shelving options are included in the Volnay range, depending on the number of ‘display shelves’ preferred, which, in turn, alters the bottle capacity. The options aside form the Volnay 120 are Volnay 176 and Volnay 168.

Full Shelves
Our Vin Garde Full Shelf offers exceptional adaptability to accommodate a variety of bottle shapes. It comfortably holds up to 11 Bordeaux-shaped bottles, 10 Burgundy bottles, or 10 Champagne bottles, providing exceptional flexibility. Each shelf front is in solid beech wood. It's essential to note that some Champagne brands may feature thicker bottles that are not suitable for this shelf. In such instances, these bottles can be securely placed at the very bottom of the wine fridge for safekeeping. Alternatively, if you possess bottles with unique dimensions, you can easily remove one of the full shelves to create additional space, ensuring a custom-fit for your treasured wine collection. Experience the versatility and tailored options of the Vin Garde Full Shelf, designed to cater to your specific wine storage requirements.
Half Shelves
Due to the positioning of the compressor, the bottom shelf is a half shelf which holds 11 bottles (10 Burgundy or Champagne).
Storing Larger Marques
In such cases, you can place those bottles at the bottom of the wine fridge or remove one of the full shelves to create extra space. This allows you to customise the shelf to perfectly fit your collection. Experience the adaptability of the Vin Garde Full Shelf and optimise your wine storage options.
Built-in Cabinetry Guide
Optimal Installation for Volnay Wine Cabinets
When it comes to installing Vin Garde wine cabinets, proper placement and ventilation are crucial for optimal performance. Here's some help on how to achieve both functionality and aesthetics.
Recess Dimensions
For Volnay models, the recommended dimensions of the recess are a minimum of W635 x D718* x H1900mm. These dimensions allow the cabinet to sit comfortably away from the wall at the rear and a sufficient aperture above the cabinet, ensuring adequate ventilation for the unit. * Minimum depth requirement to allow at least a 30mm ventilation gap behind the cabinet.
Door Handles and Hinge Allowance
With Vin Garde cabinets, a minimum gap of 20mm is required on either side of the wine cabinet. This allows you to grip the recessed handle on one side and for the door to swing unhindered on the other side. These gaps either side of the wine cabinet can be filled with matching panels to your surrounding furniture but the edge of these panels must be sufficiently set back from the front of the wine cabinet to allow access to the recessed door handle and for the cabinet hinges to operate. They should be set back level with the edge of the cabinet. If multiple cabinets are being installed adjacent to each other, the same requirements apply, but where possible, between the cabinets, these infill panels do not need to be the full depth of the wine cabinets as the panels are for aesthetic purposes only and a more shallow panel will further assist ventilation. Reduce the depth of the infill panels as much as is possible without risking strength and rigidity.
Wall or Furniture Aperture
To help achieve sufficient ventilation, it's essential to create an aperture above the cabinet, in the wall or surrounding furniture. We recommend at least 100mm from the top of the cabinet.
