General
Intended for those with a refined taste in wine, the Vin Garde Volnay 120 wine cooler cabinet caters to serious connoisseurs of fine wines. This single-temperature model provides the flexibility to be free-standing or built into – for example – your kitchen space.
Volnay 120 is fitted with 7 sliding display shelves, 1 sliding horizontal full shelf and 1 sliding half base shelf. The capacity is 120 bottles.
It is supplied with either a ‘full glass’ or stainless steel glass door. LED lighting to the top and sides is included as standard and you can change the LED lighting from cool white to warm white at the touch of a button.
Temperature can be set between 5–22°C.
The body of the freestanding wine storage cooler is black and there are two glass door options

Shelving options
The sliding shelf has a metal base with a durable bottle-retaining moulding. Its front boasts attractive beech wood. The thin 1mm metal base ensures robustness, enabling greater shelf quantity in the wine cooler display cabinet / fridge. This boosts the bottle capacity and provides additional space for various bottle sizes, as detailed in the note below.
Bottom half shelf
Large and medium models like Volnay, Pommard, Meursault and Beaune come with both Full and Display Shelves. These models have a bottom half shelf for two layers of bottles. The display shelf accommodates 14 bottles, with 9 at the back (5 plus 4 stacked) and 5 at the front, angled for label visibility, while keeping the cork covered and the bubble lower down the bottle’s shoulder.
Volnay, Pommard, Meursault and Beaune models Full Shelf
The Full Shelf comfortably fits most bottle marques, storing up to 11 Bordeaux, 10 Burgundy, or 10 Champagne bottles. However, please be aware that some Champagne brands have thicker bottles, which may not fit on this shelf. In such cases, you can place them at the bottom of the single-temperature wine cooler display cabinet / fridge or remove a full shelf to create more space for these larger bottles.

Optimal Installation for Volnay Wine Cabinets
When it comes to installing Vin Garde wine cabinets, proper placement and ventilation are crucial for optimal performance. Here’s some help on how to achieve both functionality and aesthetics:
Recess Dimensions
For Volnay models, the recommended dimensions of the recess are a minimum of W635 x D718* x H1900mm. These dimensions allow the cabinet to sit comfortably away from the wall at the rear and a sufficient aperture above the cabinet, ensuring adequate ventilation for the unit.
* Minimum depth requirement to allow at least a 30mm ventilation gap behind the cabinet.
Door Handles and Hinge Allowance
With Vin Garde cabinets, a minimum gap of 20mm is required on either side of the wine cabinet. This allows you to grip the recessed handle on one side and for the door to swing unhindered on the other side. These gaps either side of the wine cabinet can be filled with matching panels to your surrounding furniture but the edge of these panels must be sufficiently set back from the front of the wine cabinet to allow access to the recessed door handle and for the cabinet hinges to operate. They should be set back level with the edge of the cabinet.
If multiple cabinets are being installed adjacent to each other, the same requirements apply, but where possible, between the cabinets, these infill panels do not need to be the full depth of the wine cabinets as the panels are for aesthetic purposes only and a more shallow panel will further assist ventilation. Reduce the depth of the infill panels as much as is possible without risking strength and rigidity.
Recess Dimensions

Wall or Furniture Aperture
To help achieve sufficient ventilation, it’s essential to create an aperture above the cabinet, in the wall or surrounding furniture. We recommend at least 100mm from the top of the cabinet.
Decorative Grille
In some cases, you can fit a decorative grille, however this may restrict ventilation in some instances. A grille can serve the dual purpose of concealing the aperture and enhancing the overall aesthetics of the installation. Please note that grilles are not included with the cabinet.

Vin Garde Wine Cooler Shelves
The base of the sliding shelf is metal, upon which a highly durable moulding is fitted to keep the bottles in place. The front of the shelf is a very attractive beech wood. By using a metal base, the shelf is extremely robust yet only 1mm thick, which enables more shelves to be fitted within the cabinet. This increases the cabinet’s bottle capacity and allows more space on each shelf to accommodate different bottle sizes, please see the note below.
Full Shelves and Display Shelves can be fitted in the large and medium-sized models – Volnay, Pommard, Meursault and Beaune. These models are all equipped with a half shelf at the bottom, upon which 2 layers of bottles can be stored. The display shelf accommodates 14 bottles. On the rear of the shelf you place 5 bottles, then another 4 bottles on top of the 5, making 9 in total at the rear of the shelf. At the front you place 5 bottles at a display angle, so you can see the label. The angle of the bottle ensures that the cork remains covered, with the bubble being well down the shoulder of the bottle.

The Full Shelf has been designed to comfortably accommodate most bottle shapes. It will store 11 Bordeaux shaped bottles, 10 Burgundy bottles or 10 Champagne bottles. Please note that some Champagne marques have extremely thick bottles which will not fit on the full shelf. To accommodate such bottles you can place them at the very bottom of the cabinet or remove one of the full shelves to create more headroom to fit the thicker bottle shape.

DELIVERY – For models held in stock, we can arrange delivery within 2 working days to postcodes in mainland England and Wales. For Scotland and islands, please contact our office for a delivery quotation.

On the day of delivery the driver will call you when about 1 hour away from you.
Our two-man delivery team will deliver the cabinet to the location required and remove the packaging. You can switch on the cabinet once it has settled in place for 24 hours (to protect the compressor after moving the cabinet).
