Why choose Vin Garde Freestanding Wine Cooler?
Vin Garde freestanding wine coolers combine superb build quality with attractive design to ensure reliability, longevity and quiet running. LED lighting across the top and vertically down each side are fitted as standard and create an eye-catching feature. The LEDs have 4 levels of intensity or can be switched off completely.
Each Vin Garde fridge is fitted with sliding shelves throughout, affording immediate access to all bottles within the fridge. No rummaging around to find that particular bottle buried under layers of other bottles. By incorporating the use of metal, instead of wood, on the base of the shelf, it is sufficiently robust to support the weight of the bottles but thin enough to save several millimetres in height for each shelf, enabling us to increase the total number of shelves within the fridge, whilst ensuring that there is sufficient space to accommodate most bottle shapes (Bordeaux, Burgundy, Alsace, Rhone, even most Champagnes, excluding the wider format bottles).
Vin Garde fridges ventilate at the front, so can be either free-standing or incorporated into a fitted kitchen design without the need to allow for ventilation at the rear. There are two options for the door finish – full glass door where the glass covers the black door frame completely, giving an attractive glossy finish or glass door with seamless stainless-steel frame. The Vin Garde range offers a choice of single-temperature models for medium to long-term storage of reds and whites or dual-temperature models which have two compartments, allowing for reds and whites to be kept at their ideal serving temperatures.
Vin Garde Wine Cooler Shelves
The base of the sliding shelf is metal, upon which a highly durable moulding is fitted to keep the bottles in place. The front of the shelf is a very attractive beech wood. By using a metal base, the shelf is extremely robust yet only 1mm thick, which enables more shelves to be fitted within the fridge. This increases the fridge’s bottle capacity and allows more space on each shelf to accommodate different bottle sizes, please see the note below.
Full Shelves and Display Shelves can be fitted in the large and medium-sized models – Volnay, Pommard, Meursault and Beaune. These models are all equipped with a half shelf at the bottom, upon which 2 layers of bottles can be stored. The display shelf accommodates 14 bottles. On the rear of the shelf you place 5 bottles, then another 4 bottles on top of the 5, making 9 in total at the rear of the shelf. At the front you place 5 bottles at a display angle, so you can see the label. The angle of the bottle ensures that the cork remains covered, with the bubble being well down the shoulder of the bottle.
Volnay, Pommard, Meursault and Beaune models Full Shelf The Full Shelf has been designed to comfortably accommodate most bottle shapes. It will store 11 Bordeaux shaped bottles, 10 Burgundy bottles or 10 Champagne bottles. Please note that some Champagne marques have extremely thick bottles which will not fit on the full shelf. To accommodate such bottles you can place them at the very bottom of the fridge or remove one of the full shelves to create more headroom to fit the thicker bottle shape.
Volnay, Pommard, Meursault and Beaune Half Shelves
Due to the positioning of the compressor, the bottom shelf is a half shelf which holds 11 bottles (10 Burgundy or Champagne).
